REVIEW: The second season of Gullak came in 2021 and since then nothing much has changed in the Mishra family. ‘Gullak 3,’ like the previous seasons, revolves around the everyday experiences of a small town, middle-class Indian household. While the family experiences many ups and downs, what holds them together is their unwavering love and support for one another, which manifests itself in the most unexpected ways. The beauty of the series lies in its narrative, which is as promising as its prequels, and easy to relate to.

In this new set of five episodes, written by Durgesh Singh and directed by Palash Vaswani, nothing has changed; mother Shanti (Geetanjali Kulkarni) and father Santosh (Jameel Khan) continue to be themselves. The only shift is that Annu (Vaibhav Raj Gupta) has a job now, whereas Aman (Harsh Mayar) is the school’s tenth board topper, hoping to gain admission to complete his higher education. His parents initially struggled to pay Aman’s school fees, but they are now relieved to have a second source of income. However, things take a turn for the worse when the patriarch, Santosh Mishra, loses his job due to office politics. So, how will the family make ends meet?
